2024 four-star guard KJ Greene updates the latest in his recruitment

Kyle ‘KJ’ Greene had himself a big Saturday night as he poured in 25-points and tallied three assists on his way to a win over Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade Julienne at Flyin to the Hoop.

With his standout play, the 6-foot-1 guard out of Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy said his recruitment is starting to gain more traction with it.

“It’s been going good,” he said of his recruitment. “A lot of schools that have been there since the beginning are picking up their recruitment. A lot of schools are reaching out and seeing how I am, keeping up to date.”

The three schools he has been in constant contact with include Clemson, South Carolina and Georgetown. He’s originally from the state of South Carolina and has already been on two unofficials to both home-state teams and also took an official to Georgetown.

He discussed each of his visits and the current state of his recruitment with each suitor with 247Sports.

Clemson: “I like the, it’s close to home, it’s a small town, small community which I like. Then the way they’re playing now, it’s the top of the ACC. They should be ranked, their guards are getting after it. I like them a lot.”

Georgetown: “Even though it’s a rough season they keep in touch up there. Coach Nickelberry and coach Ewing, I talk to them a lot. The visit was nice. It’s a beautiful campus, great facilities, the coaches they have the years of experience playing and coaching the game, it’s always good to be in an environment to be around guys basketball minded.”

South Carolina: “Hometown, so they will always have a place in my heart being the hometown team. Coach Paris is a great coach, he lets his players play, he’s a laid back personality, a laid back coach, he gets on them when he needs to , he gets on GG [Jackson]. South Carolina is a good place and he needs another year to get his players in so he can show what he can do.”

Right now, Greene has no visits scheduled as he remains focused on the season but when his season ends, he does have three schools on his mind that he’d like to visit.

“I would like to visit on an official to Clemson, Ole Miss and Pitt maybe,” said Greene.

He additionally shared his thoughts and why he’d like to get on campus at Ole Miss and Pittsburgh.

Ole Miss: “They let their guards play, they’re a guard centric team. They do a two-guard system and how I play with pace so I really like that.”

Pittsburgh: “I haven’t watched them much but I watched them in the Clemson game. They’re a hard-nosed team and coach Capel was the point guard at Duke so it’s always good when your coach plays your position.”

Greene is remaining patient in his recruitment. He told 247Sports that he expects to have a big summer so a decision won’t be made anytime soon.

“I am probably thinking after AAU. I don’t want to rush into anything,” he said.

Greene ranks as the No. 105 overall prospects in the 2024 class.
