In kindergarten, students receive comprehensive and challenging instruction in academic core areas including reading, writing, math, science and social studies. They also have college and career exploration opportunities, music classes, physical education courses and opportunities to participate in before- and after-school enrichment programs.
While kindergarten is not required in Arizona, many parents choose to prepare their children for the learning environment by enrolling them in a full- or half-day kindergarten program. At Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD), we believe kindergarten provides valuable learning experiences and opportunities for young students.
QCUSD offers tuition-free, full-day kindergarten programs at all of our nine elementary schools. Half-day kindergarten options are also available at most elementary schools.

Kindergarten students also have opportunities to form lasting friendships with peers, and receive hands-on learning and exploration from certified professionals who are experts in child development. Our teachers are passionate about engaging young students and fostering their love of learning.
For parents, choosing a kindergarten program can be a big decision. That’s why all of our elementary schools are hosting open houses on April 20 at 5 pm, inviting parents and future students to campus to take a look for themselves, learn about the district, and meet school administrators and teachers.
If your child is ready to start kindergarten, I encourage you to learn more about options in QCUSD and attend a Kindergarten Round-up event this April. For more information about our programs, visit qcusd.org/Kindergarten.
