Focus on Reading Dan Willingham led an excellent deep-dive session titled “Everything Scientists Know About the Teaching of Reading.” This talk was divided into Decoding, Fluency, Comprehension, and Motivation. Thursday night as hundreds of family, friends and loved ones from across the county gathered to celebrate the 85 graduates of Anne Arundel Evening High School. Quebec’s first school guide to genocide education is now available in English after six years of work

The first resource specifically for teaching about genocide at the high school level in Quebec is now available in English. Like the French version launched last year, Studying Genocide is only available online for now. It is the only material currently available covering 20th-century genocides, including the Holocaust, a subject that is not mandatory in Quebec schools. Both versions are the fruit of many years of effort by Heidi Berger, the daughter of Holocaust survivors.
