The Bluewater District School Board has named Wendy Louwerse a superintendent of education effective Sept. 1.

Manitoba educators will get a boost when it comes to digital assessment tools to help identify early years students’ needs, the province said Monday.

Serbia shootings: Education minister Branko Ruzic resigns
BELGRADE, Serbia –
Serbia’s education minister submitted his resignation Sunday following two mass shootings, one of them at a primary school, left 17 people dead, while the European country’s government urged citizens to turn in all unregistered weapons or run the risk of a prison sentence.

Tentative agreements reached with thousands of NS educational support workers
Nova Scotia’s education minister says regional centers for education across the province and the French language school board have reached a tentative agreement with CUPE for educational support staff, staving off a possible strike by thousands of school support workers.
Minister Becky Druhan said in an interview with the CBC’s Information Morning on Wednesday that the next step is for CUPE members to see the deal and vote on it.
